fourth_rose	12:29p	I seem to have misplaced my fannish monogamy Wow, that "Buffy vs. Edward" vid I stumbled upon a while ago has triggered a veritable avalanche of fannish obsessions... First, it sucked me into all things "Buffy" (and subsequently, "Angel") to an almost unhealthy degree. Then I came across the rumour that David Boreanaz is actually capable of getting through a whole TV episode without whining if he's not in Wheydonverse, so I went to check out "Bones". What can I say? I'm halfway through season 4 at this point, and I'm seriously hooked. Diehard vampire fan that I've always been, I still have to admit that some actors obviously work better without fangs. In other news, I've got myself an "Archive of Our Own" account, but the uploading process is a right pain in the ass, so I'll probably wait until some of the bugs get sorted out. kennahijja	2:57p	FIC REC (omg!) Ok, I was going to do the sensible thing and sit on my recs from hp_darkfest and others until I have a sizable lot and throw them out all at once. But then I read *this*, and there's just no way I can't share right now: Descent by anonymous (Harry/Lucius, Harry/Draco, Snape/Lucius, NC-17) Summary: Harry seeks distraction in darker spaces. This pretty much hit all my buttons and kinks at once - hatesex, mindfuck of the most twisted kind, deathwish!Harry (my guiltiest pleasure), plotting, power play, dark without going over the top... It's the sort of old-school Harry/Malfoys fic that made me fall in love with both H/D and H/L way back, and that's incredibly rare nowadays - the type of fic that calls to mind the early Beloved Enemies group before it turned into L K Hamilton-type fluff and then was pulled by Yahell. But it isn't *just* nostalgia - it's also extremely well written, the psychology is excellent throughout (especially when it comes to Harry's state of mind), and the sex is scorchingly *hot*. Anyway, it turned me into a gleeful bundle of squee despite still being under the weather, so... Do give it a shot - it's awesome :). Current Mood: bouncy (Comment on this)
