(John Gillespie Magee, 1922-41) Usually it feels as though the surly bonds of earth intend to hold me fast - one day I hope my soul may remember how to soar. Writing fanfic has lent wings to my creativity, and for that I am profoundly grateful. Most of my stories revolve around the character of Lucius Malfoy. Why Lucius? Well, he represents an archetype that has haunted my dreams as long as I can remember. That disturbs me. Those internally uncomfortable places tend to yield the richest learning, and writing fiction allows a deeper engagement than critical analysis alone. Seeing the world through his eyes, seeing him through those who challenge him, forces me to grapple with my own issues with power: personal, sexual, political and financial. And he’s a lot of fun to write! Those who are interested will find a small collection of shortish stories here, and my major project Invictus here. I have a LiveJournal as chthonya. At the moment (August 07) I'm maintaining both except for issues specific to IJ or LJ. I also have a GJ login but will only be using that for commenting. Feel free to friend me - no need to ask.
